Network of Experts

Our Network of Experts constitutes a unique and powerful source of Canadian insight—both theoretical and practical—on effective and innovative practices. Members play an important role in guiding the Centre’s projects and activities by taking part in advisory committees on our different projects, engaging in our community of practice and other knowledge exchange activities as well as contributing to current and future areas of research in workplace learning.

Membership in the Centre's Network of Experts involves no fees, but does require a commitment to our mission and a willingness to contribute time. On a voluntary basis, our members lend their insight and expertise and knowledge of effective and innovative practices regarding workplace learning in Canada. In return, they widen their own networks through exchanges with peers across the country.

The Centre for Workplace Skills convenes a Network of Experts from across Canada with representatives from:
  • Private and public sector employers and business associations
  • Labour unions, labour federations and other labour-affiliated groups
  • Community colleges, universities, school boards and associations representing the education sector
  • Sector councils
  • Literacy and essential skills organizations and coalitions
  • Federal, provincial and territorial governments
  • Academic research departments, groups and networks
  • Policy and research organizations
  • Professional associations representing the training, education, career development community and practitioners
